Hey ladies. Well today i will be reviewing Touche Eclat by Yves Saint Laurent.
This is a product that i've heard about for years now. Its famous world wide. What celebrity doesn't use YSL's Touche Eclat? The iconic gold pen has been in every A-list makeup bag for decades. It really brightens around the eyes and manages to erase fatigue. I've seen it mentioned in countless magazines and read endless reviews.
It has to be amazing right?
I purchased mine last week from selfridges for £24.00. Recently i had been using the mac studio fix concealer under my eyes and although it is AMAZING for coverage it is not good for the delicate area under your eyes so i stopped using it. Now there is one MAJOR misconception when it comes to touche eclat. IT IS NOT....i repeat NOT a concealer. It is a highlighter. So don't be disappointed if you don't get the coverage you require.
I however do use this instead of a concealer because it gives me the look i need on a day to day basis.
On occasions i will use a proper concealer to give better coverage.
Touche Eclat is primarily a reflective substance that you apply strategically to areas of your face that are shadowed, in order to brighten them up.
The reflective substances in Touche Eclat cause light to bounce off the skin in a way that makes it look fresher, smoother and more youthful. It will work to some extent on under-eye shadows because of this, but it's not a "coverage" product.
I use this in the shade number 3.
This shade blends right in to my natural skin colour so i can wear it on its own on one of those "no makeup" days. It is a good product for those of you who go school/college/uni on trampy, can't be bothered days. Where you just want to look pretty and not like your makeup is pretty. Its very light and creamy in texture and doesnt look like your caked up on makeup.I am like the queen of insomnia. I'm nocturnal or something. Probably an owl in a past life. I'm wide awake throughout the night and sleep through the day. I actually spent most of today nodding off at work and spent my whole dinner asleep at my desk. LOL Yes so you can imagine how this causes havoc with my eyes. So Touche eclat is like a god send for me. I always apply garnier caffeine roll on or my clinique eye cream before i apply any form of concealer under my eyes to prep the skin first for a smoother application.
It wakes my eyes up. I apply it on my eye lid and under my eyes as a base coat/primer. Then i apply benefit's powderflage to set it, but you don't have to if you prefer not to use powder and you can apply concealer on top. Also because it reflects light it makes your eyes appear bigger and wider. BINGO
The packaging is well designed. Its gold and black and looks very slick and cool. The black bit on the end of the tube is a button that you press to dispense product, which is pumped out through the brush applicator.
