Drugstore Product of the day! Prime & Proper

Hey ladies. The drugstore product of the day is the GOSH Velvet touch Foundation Primer. £12.00 from Superdrug.

 

So today i finished work and as usual I decided to browse the shops. I did some makeup shopping from Selfridges (Will review soon) and the woman at the YSL counter tried her best to flog me everything. All i could think of in my head was I wonder if i can bag a cheaper version in a drugstore. 

I've never worn primer. Its never been a necessity, but I've heard loads about how it makes your makeup last longer and prevents it from smearing and melting off etc. It holds your makeup in place blah blah. So i decided to go into Superdrug. There i met a lovely assistant called Chloe. She was actually the manager there . We had a long chat about the many primers they had available and she told me an interesting fact: Ever wondered why GOSH is more expensive than the rest of the Superdrug brands? Well its because GOSH products are based on MAC products and are made by the same people who make MAC! WOW! 

Then i had a look at the GOSH products. The packaging was very similar to that of MAC. The pigmentation was high in the makeup and it was all very good quality. One of the assistants their told me how she was OBSESSED with MAC and how the GOSH products are EXTREMELY similar to that of MAC at a fraction of the cost. 

Anyway now about the product itself. I came home all excited, wiped off all my makeup and applied the primer to my face. WOW it was so soft and silky and glided onto my face to nicely. After i applied my Laura Mercia tinted moisturizer (You can apply foundation if you prefer) I noticed how all the fine lines had been filled in creating a matt and silky soft surface on my skin and the concealer etc glided onto my face so perfectly. My face looked FLAWLESS. It also gave a glow to my skin. I LOVED IT. 

 SPOTS??? When you apply makeup straight after your moisturizer your makeup sinks into your pores giving  you spots. However when you apply primer this prevents this from happening. However always make sure you're not allergic to any of the ingredients.

USE WITH: Finish your look with translucent powder to give a matt finish and help the makeup look shine free and last even longer.

BONUS: Easy to use due to the pump.

Drugstore Product of the day!

Hey dolls! Summer is the most beautiful time of the year. The sun is shining. The shades are out. The sales are in and the oily T-ZONE is back. HUH??? Wait a minute. That's the not so beautiful part of the year. Yes that's what i am going to be talking about today. Ever noticed how you set out of your house, with your makeup perfectly applied and an hour later its all gone. Your skin is oilier and all you want to do is hide behind those sunglasses & hats. Yes we've all been there. In the summer it's not just your wardrobe that needs adjusting its your makeup/cosmetics bag too.
 So the other day i was out with my friends and one of them pulled out some blotting tissues, i got so excited as i have been meaning to buy some for ages and i just didn't know which ones to purchase as my skin was so sensitive.

Now usually i use translucent powder and that does the trick perfectly. It gives a nice flawless matt finish to your makeup and gets rid of any shine. However i found that my big tub of powder didn't always fit into my bag and i've always been worried that i'll have it in my bag and one day POOOF!! The tub will explode making my bag look like the inside of a cake mix. Not cool at all girls.

So that's why these are AMAZING. A summer girls handbag essential.

Now this one is amazing too. You can actually see the difference on the sheet. It doesn't smudge your makeup at all and it keeps you looking flawlessly shine free. It is perfect to fit into your handbag on a summers day. However be careful as these contain mineral oil so i wouldn't advise girls that are breakout prone to use these. 

I would highly recommend blotting paper especially if you live in a hot country.

Drugstore Product of the day!

Hey everyone!! My drugstore product is the Carex hand gel. Those of you who know me will know how i am obsessed with using my hand gel. People make fun of me and call me an OCD freak. Honestly i'm not at all. I'm so far from it. It's only when i was at school and they show you those horrible bacteria and virus pictures and i got so creaped out. Those kind of things make me sick and make me feel itchy and horrible. When i was young i actually wanted to go into science believe it or not. As soon as i saw those cell/bacteria/virus images enlarged i was thrown. It is so disgusting! haha Anyway so that's when my obsession with hand gel grew. I could just see horrible bacteria growing on my hands in my head and it would freak me out and send me into a panick. So i became obsessed. Especially as i'm a student i'm constantly using University computers and even at work i'm on the computers constantly so it freaks me out that the person before me could have been picking their nose and not washed their hands for months (You never know) hahaha yeah so thats me. I'm a freak.

Anyway this hand gel is my handbag MUST HAVE! I buy mine from Boots, body care or super drug and its for £1.00 so i go through tons of these in a month. 

Another thing they're good for is if you're one of those girls who constantly touch your face. Whether its to fix your fringe or to generally check your head is still on your shoulders, you should always have clean hands as you have no idea how much invisible horrible scary bacteria is on your hands which can be so bad for your skin. Honestly i'm having flash backs of school science class thinking about it. The horrible bacteria which is coming to eat me like an episode of power puff girls. Oh the horror. 

Anyway i'm off now before i wake up in the middle of the night dreaming about it! Hahahaha

Lipstick vs Lipslip


Hey everyoneeeeeeee! Here is our drugstore product of the day. Lipcote! Lipcote is a daily essential for me as is my lipstick.

 You simply apply a clear layer over your lipstick and it stays on all day. It really does. As the package says " If your lipstick is more like lipslip, you really do need lipcote" It's true. I swear by it. Normally when i apply lipstick i can't eat, drink or even talk unless i want my lipstick to disappear in no time. This essential is eat/drink/kiss proof. You will love it.

SPOT ON!



Heyyyyyyyy everyoneee!!!! So our drugstore product of the day is this Clearasil Rapid action treatment cream!
Now i don't know why but i've always thought of all spot preventing/curing gels, creams and serums etc are just a big fat fake! I've never had anyone tell me that a spot or acne cream has ever worked for them. Well recently me and Sumaiya both had a bad skin phase during exam time. Well they say if you get spots on your face its due to a bad diet and if it's on your forehead then its due to stress. We both have never ever had spots all the way through our teens and for the 1st time ever in 2011 we broke out. How unlucky is that?? Someone jinxed our flawless skin! lol well anyway lucky enough for us we found Clearasil Rapid treatment cream. I'm not even exaggerating when i call it the miracle cream. You literally wash your face twice a day and apply it in the effected areas twice a day and DO NOT TOUCH YOUR FACE after that! I don't know why some people are just obsessed with touching their faces (MY SISTER) and they dont understand how much bacteria is on their hands and they just want to mess around with their face! A word from the wise? Don't do it! Thats the only thing that cured us. Yes we are normal girls so we did still want to take our daily dosage of makeup. So we did apply makeup over the top of the cream. The cream dries and it dries as a thin layer on top of the affected area so it protects it from any makeup u may apply over the top. I would recommend that you dont apply makeup at all but if you must then try your best to wash your face as soon as you get home or as soon as you can. If you can try to stay home all day and apply this twice a day. I saw results after just one day. Yes it does say visible results after 4 hours...you do see some results but the spot doesnt completely vanish. It takes a few days to completely go. Which i was more than happy with as now i have reverted back to my flawless skin again!

You can buy this from all drugstores. Superdrug, boots, bodycare etc. I'm pretty sure they sell this around the world too. I havn't tested any of the other clearasil products and don't really like taking risks with my skin but this was the best thing ever for me personally.

Dear Skin, i shall never neglect you again. I will never sweat the small stuff and will try my best to drink as much water as i can. I will wear plenty of sun block! I have never smoked or drank alcohol and never intend to. I promise to always remove my makeup and cleans my face correctly. I am only human and we all make mistakes. Please take me back and never be angry with me again?? Sincerely a very thankful girl!

here's a hint...its dry shampoo with a tint!


Hey dolls! So if you are like me and would prefer an extra hour in bed sometimes instead of washing your hair in the morning then dry shampoo is a god send!

It refreshes your hair inbetween washs. Well i've been using dry shampoo for a while now, i mainly use it for my fringe as i mess about with it so much it becomes greasier during the day. BUT i always hated it as it always left a white-ish residue. Not a good look. Thankfully Batiste have come up with a cure. The new dry shampoo with a hint of colour. Light is great for blondes, Medium is perfect for brunettes like myself and Dark is best for you darker haired beauties. The hint of colour will complement your hair tone and it is said to even blend in your root regrowth. I wouldnt know that as i've never dyed my hair but i'm sure Sumaiya would be happy to try that out and tell you.
You can get this product from any of your local drugstores like Boots, Body care, Superdrug etc or even places like ASDA would do it.

P.s I know you are all thinking GO TAKE A SHOWER!!! hahahaa Don't worry i do shower regularly and smell nice. The dry shampoo is just for emergencies. I do not abuse the privilege! hahaha
