Don't Sweat The Small Stuff

Hey Dolls!!!

Hope everyone is doing well...and eaten until their up most fullest :D

Okay so today's blog post is something different it's not to do with fashion or beauty but to do with one other MAJOR thing that every girl should  know....TO LOVE YOURSELF..TO LOVE YOUR LIFE..

When I was in Canada I met the best man..Richard Carlson he is by far the most AMAZING author in this world. So one day I was out shopping and while my brother went into a guy's shop right next door was a book shop which to be completely honest on a normal day I never visit.but there was a book sat on the shelf that totally caught my eye..DON'T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF :

"Simple ways to keep the little things from taking over your life"

Where has this book been all my life?what I LOVE bout this book is that its in really small chapters the book itself is small, each chapter lasting a page and a half at the most which makes it so easy to read!

Richard Carlson gives you little tips on how you can improve things in your life,I'm going to admit it,I am a person that STRESSES over every little thing. This book has REALLY helped me sort my priorities out,its just shown me how to live life a little better a little more stress free with a little more of a smile :)

When I'm upset/stressed or just want some "Me" time I sit to read this,I promised myself that I will take some time out everyday to read a chapter and I did.I carry the book in my bag and whenever I get a chance wherever I am I find a seat and I sit to read.

I'm not going to sit here and tell you that your life is going to be PERFECT that nothing bad is ever going to happen to you, because it WILL..
Last week I had a day when EVERYTHING failed on me,every little thing..I burnt my top,my car broke down,I was late for work it was a domino effect and I seriously panic and I FREAK out like I'm going to cry :(
But it's about really standing outside the box and thinking to yourself "How can I make the best out of this moment? Will This matter to me in 10 years time? Will anyone remember this in 10 years time?" You find that the answer to your question will mainly be a NO.

As I was reading the book I actually started to realise that I was definatly Sweating The Small Stuff, and it made me appreciate life SO much more.I would sometimes get all frustrated because my hair wasn't going right,or because I didn't have the perfect outfit, but honestly is this something to get agitated over?
I had a call from a customer at work today, she was around my age she called in to cancel her account cause she had been diagnosed with cancer she had been given a time limit of around 2 weeks to live. She was upset and SCARED!!
It made me realise more and more how much I stress about my life, and how much I let LITTLE things take over me when there are people in the world that are going through SO much more!!!

This Book honestly has TAUGHT me so much,it has taught me ways to live my life just a little more peacefully. Its taught me to LET GO of the negative vibes,I really wish someone had introduced me to this YEARS ago it would have helped me allot.

We have had emails of girls that want to know how to get rid of the negativity in their lives, how to make small issues with their partner's/colleagues,friends go away..Really there is no simple way of explaining it all depends on the individual, but Richard Carlson has a chapter which is named "Choose Your Battles Wisely" it goes something like this:

"The truth is life is rarely exactly the way we want it to be,and other people often don't act as we would like them to,moment to moment their are aspects of life that we like and some we don't.There are always going to be people who disagree with you, people who would do things differently, and things that don't work out.If you fight against the principle of life, you'll spend most of your time fighting battles"

After this he begins to ask questions which you ask yourself and honestly it makes you realise that these so called "issues" are not even worth fussing over.If you don't want to sweat the small stuff its critical that you choose your battles wisely. If you do there will come a day when you'll rarely feel the need to battle at all!!

I'm not suggesting that you wont ever get upset or you wont ever feel let down.Because that WILL happen that is about life, but it is about trying to figure out how to deal with these issues what works for you? There is a quote by Bob Marley which we LOVE:

Truth is, everybody is going to hurt you; you just gotta find the ones worth suffering for.

Like this is SO true, when I was younger I would let EVERYTHING get to me,every little thing that someone says or does I would dwell on it for ages,But not anymore I don't know whether it is just a part of growing up but I feel like I can honestly BRUSH it of.
Not being a door mat but just knowing whats worth a night of lost sleep and what isn't.I have also had a lot of people to talk to in my depressed times, such as my cousins Sara,Shamz,Mahaim and Our best friend Saima.I do feel like every girl needs just a couple of people in her life to make the day seem brighter, and I've definatly found mine, this wasn't easy it was a road of heartbreak and tears but its about being a BIG GIRL right?

And the final chapter which is called "Live each Day..As It Was Your Last..It Maybe!" Think this to yourself every morning when you get up and I PROMISE you will do things so much more differently..arguing,stressing,getting upset, crying before you do any of these you will think twice.

We only live this life once..Remember
life is too short to wake up in the morning
with regrets, so love the people that treat
you right. Forget about the ones that don't
& believe that everything happens for a
reason. if you get a chance , take it. if it
changes your life, then let it. nobody said
it'd be easy. they just promised it would
be all worth it in the end.
LIVE...LAUGH...LOVE..
(Yes I have totally just taken this pic now using the webcam hence the quality in my scrubs and yes my hair is going crazy :P)

I hope this has helped you..and I would recommend EVERYONE in getting this book it is totally amazing Richard Carlson does a series "Don't Sweat The Small Stuff..Work/Relationships/Love/Family etc"

What has helped you being a happier person?

It's A Girl Thing xoxo

Money Saving Tips.

Hey dolls!! So today we are going to teach you our money saving tips and tricks. Who said that style & beauty has to suffer because of the credit crunch? Here's how to be a recessionsta! *wink*

1. Exfoliating gloves
You can pick these up for as little as £1 from any drugstore such as boots, superdrug and body shop and they are just as good as those expensive, fancy exfoliating scrubs. You can wash & dry them so they last forever. All you need to add is shower gel or soap and scrub away. A star investment.

2. Swishing
This is actually a well known concept where women organize a swishing party. They all bring a few items of clothing or a handbag for example and swap their items with other women at the party. This is a great way to go shopping for FREE!
For example Sumaiya will often bring a bag full of her clothes for me to my house and she'll fill it back up with my clothes and take it to hers. We always say how it feels like we've actually been on a shopping spree after it.

3. Lip Plumper
I have actually mentioned this recipe in one of my posts before but it is ace so i have to mention it again. For those of us who cannot afford expensive lip plumping glosses & creams etc here is a DIY home made recipe. Add some Vaseline in a bowl. Add peppermint or cinnamon extract and mix it together. Apply as you would any other lip balm. Sit back and feel the blood rush to your lips making them appear plumper. All that under £5. Angelina Jolie eat your heart out.

 4. Hair mask
Deep conditioning masks are essential for healthy hair but they can be annoyingly pricey. I swear by coconut oil. Massage into your scalp and leave for a few hours then wash your hair as you normally would. It will make your hair softer and silkier than any fancy hair mask. I usually never get time to moisturize my hair and my dad sits me down and forces me to have it put in my hair especially in the winter months as your hair is stripped from its natural moisture and you sit in front of heaters for hours on end i always start getting a really dry scalp. We have also mentioned before how it is great for hair growth.

5. Face Mask
Use pure warm honey as a facemask. Add a few drops of olive oil if you have dry skin, or a few drops of fresh lemon juice if you have oily skin. Honey evens skin tone, moisturises and is a anti-bacterial, so helps with spots and redness. Basic ingredients you can find in your kitchen. No need for a fancy label.

6. Sell your stuff
How many of us have items lying at the back of our wardrobe that we NEVER wear? Me & Sumaiya actually have loads of clothes with their tags still attached that we bought in a moment of madness because it was so cheap at the time or we just HAD to buy it. What did we do? We sold it all. We both set up an Ebay account and sold all the stuff we never wear. Including dresses that we only wore once at birthdays to stuff we have just gotten sick of. We stuck it all on ebay and made some money off it.

Also now ASOS actually have a Marketplace section where you can also sell your clothes.

7. Stitch it up
The other day i was in Zara and read a sign about alterations so i was fascinated and asked the shop assistant about it. She said if there was an item that wasn't in your size they can have it altered for you for around £4. How cool is that? So if you find that top you've always liked has gone down to a fiver but its not in your size? They'll fix it. Also learning how to use a needle and thread is always handy. While i was growing up i was an awkward size. So it was always hard to find my size in trousers so my mum would always sew in the trousers to make them fit me. This is also a handy tip if you've torn your favorite top slightly. You can always stitch it up again. For serious sewing however get gran involved.

8. SLEEP!
Yes we have already told you but do not underestimate the power of sleep. Make sure you get atleast 7 to 8 hours. Sleep is free and sleep works wonders.
People deprived of sleep for long periods appear less attractive and more unhealthy than those who are well rested, say researchers.
Make sure you get your beauty sleep.

9. WATER
YES IT IS VITAL & FREE We have mentioned this before but we cannot stress this enough.
You need it to flush toxins, waste, and pollutants out of your body. If you have been a heavy drinker of teas, coffees, hot chocolates etc your complexion may have a tired-looking, drawn-out haze.
Your complexion could also suffer from a greasy or oily texture. Skin "spots" or "stains" can also be a side effect of excessive use of these drinks. Stop spending money on those kind of drinks and have water the cheaper and more beautiful alternative.

10. Stop the impulse Buys

So you see the perfect pair of heels. How gorgeous are they? Wow they've been reduced in sale. They are amazing yes we agree. However do you NEED them? No you don't. Its okay just put them down and walk away. Thats right. You're gonna be okay we promise. Buy yourself a muffin on the way home as a reward. We won't tell.

We love you loads.

Get Interview Ready!!

Hi Dolls!!!

Hope everyone is well, just want to start this post with a massive thank you to everyone with your feedback it's very much appreciated we physically cannot believe that we have had so many views!out target was 1,000 for the week and we are currently on 11,95!we are so impressed..keep showing your support by joining our facebook and twitter page!!

Right okay now to the post, today we are going to go over interview questions and answers and also an ideal outfit which willl make your interviewer scream YOUR HIRED :D

So whether your in college or university or working, at some point of our lives we all have an interview and it can be very nerve recking so today we are going to discuss work interviews!!

First things first you have to look the part right? here are our favoutire pieces to purchase for an interview remember you can mix and match with ONE pair of good fit black trousers!! Heres how:

Black River Island Palazzo Pants: £35.00

These honestly flow soo well,if your on the shorter side (like me) then you will be amazed at what they do for your legs.

River Island: Cream Peter Pan Lace Top :£34.99

This gives a cute classic look, tuck into the trousers with a thin tan or the belt included paired with some bangles and VIOLA! :)

River Island Black Court Platform Shoes £45.00

Pair these killer heels with any smart interview outfit and the look will officially be complete :D

I know that some of these pieces might seem a little pricey but the quailty speaks for itself, it will last you AGES!I have a pair of shoes and trousers that are solely kept for interviews and I have had them for ages this because realistically how many interviews would you go for in a year?

Job interviewing never seems to get any easier - even when you have gone on more interviews than you can count. You are meeting new people, selling yourself and your skills, and often getting the third degree about what you know or don't know.

-Prepare
-Watch
-Get Ready
-Be On Time
-Stay Calm
- SHOW WHAT YOU KNOW!

We have been for many many interviews ourselves and we find that with a customer service role/sales assistant these were questions that ALWAYS came up:

When have you provided good customer service?
The interviewer is looking for you to highight one situation and provide steps that you took in order to go the "extra mile" for the customer.

When have you dealt with an angry customer and what was the outcome?
The interviewer is looking for you to identify the customers issue, put yourself in their shoes and always remember your representing the company, take appropriate steps in order to resolve the situation.

When have you reached a target and what steps did you take?
This could mean that you could talk about targets at work or even at college/university!!state what you do to achieve your target, what goals do you set yourself?

Have you ever recieved customer feedback?
This could be if a customer just said a simple "you have been great thanks alot" or it could be a major praise given to your manager which awarded you in an extra 15 minute break ;)

Why should we hire you?
The main question which I can promise you will definatly come on,this is your opportunity to totally SELL YOURSELF, take a few minutes to compare your job description to your abilities. As well as mentioning all the times you have been sucessful in your previous position.

Good Luck..Be Yourself..Be Confident & Remember Always SMILE!!

Take Care Cause We Care..

27/06/11

Hey everyone! Well seeing as though i havnt done a blog post today i thought i would explain why. I originally wanted to a post on nails. Well let me just say EPIC FAIL! Have you ever had one of those days where you've bought a few CUTE nail polishs and you've painted your nails and BOOM finger print on one nail. Paint it again. Then BOOM smudge another nail. Paint it again. AND AGAIN AND AGAIN. Well thats me right now. Sat in a room that smells of nail polish and nail polish remover. Loads of nail polishes scattered around me. One of them actually spilled the one i loved the most! So yes girls you're not alone with disastrous nail days. I give up now i will attempt a take two tomorrow.

Anyway while i'm here i may aswel tell you what i got up to today.
As you can see from the previous post it was SUNNY AND HOT today. Like HOLIDAY HOT! For those of you that don't live in the UK we really almost never get weather that is 28degrees like it was today. So we decided to go to Blackpool. We decided to go through the Pasaj Del Terror. Here are some pictures

Okay yes we look very cool, calm and collected here but i assure you we were not as cool when we came out of there. We were shaking, our heart beats were going insane, i had a head rush, lost my voice and i was going to pass out!!!! Honestly it was SCARY!!!

As we were just about reaching the exit some chain saw guy came chasing after us at full speed. He had his chain saw right near my head! He could have chopped my head off !!! *GASP*
Sumaiya saw the door and pushed me straight into it. I head butted the door and fell outside in a shaking WRECK! Oh god it was horribly fun! Hahaha

Then we went to eat etc and went shopping where i bought my nail polishes. Oh god don't remind me i feel angry thinking about them. I was so excited to do my nails but what a disaster.

Anyway people don't forget to click the follow button on the right to follow us.

What did you get up to today??

What MEN want!

Okay ladies so Mel Gibson let out the secret in the year 2000 of what Women want but it's been 11 years since and us women are still left in the dark as to what MEN want!!! So here it is at Its a girl thing 11...11 years later. We are here to solve that very question. What do men want?? Today, a normal day at work and i got thinking about what i would write about in my next post. Then the light bulb above my quiffed hair FLASHED! Lets interview the men at work around me. So i got out my pen and note book and that's what i did. Here is a conversation between some guys i work with. Ever wanted to be that fly on the wall in the boys locker room?? Well now you can...Well without being a fly. *awkward face*

Some of the guys did want to be known as anonymous Initials on the internet so i have respected their wish.

1. Who should pay on the 1st date?
I : THE GUY!
M : You should split it, she should at least offer to pay then it's his decision if he insists on treating her.
Adil: The guy obviously
B: The guy should pay
Spikey: If she offered it shows she's not spoilt but the guy should pay.

2. What Turns you OFF a girl?

 I : Facial hair. What's that about?
 B : MO Mouth Odour
I : When a girl swears too much
Adil : If she has a bad laugh, i went on a date with a girl once, everything was going well until she laughed.
Spikey: but her laugh would make you laugh which is good. It's a turn off when a girl tries too hard.
*Everyone agrees*
Adil: When she wears too much makeup
Spikey: Or when she's being overly nice
I: Its a good thing if she's nice
I: Its a turn off when they smell of B.O

3. Okay so what are your Turn Ons?
Adil *Eager to answer* BREASTS, quote me on that
*Everyone laughs*
Spikey: If a girl supports United, i'm messing it's definitely her personality and a good dress sense.
Adil: I'm joking her personality, you have to be able to click with her and hold a conversation otherwise what's the point? It doesnt matter about looks but if she's pretty thats a bonus.
I: You need to be able to have a good banter
M: a good sense of humour is a turn on
I: If she was dumb it would be funny for a while but she has to be able to understand my jokes

4. What should a girl wear on a 1st date and what does her dress sense say about her?
Adil: How much respect shes got for herself
Spikey: Whether she's got class. If she came to see me in PVC she wouldnt exactly be classy
*Everyone laughs*
I: I would run a mile if she came like that. If a girl shows too much skin that's tacky

5. What do guys think after their 1st kiss with a girl?
Spikey: If it was good! *he laughs* i would want to see her again.
Adil: I would just be happy to have kissed her if it was a girl i really liked.
We don't think anything really.

6. A girl talks about marriage on the 1st date.
Spikey: *shakes his head and smiles* I would go home
Adil: I would tell HER to go home
B: She's desperate
I: *smiles and shakes his head* i'd tell her to *he laughs and doesnt complete the sentence*

We are all thankful he didn't. Then it started getting really busy at work so i didn't get to ask anymore curious questions.

Okay ladies hope that helped. If you have any questions you would like to be asked in the next banter with the boys, do let me know.

Until next time. Take care. Lots of love. Don't forget to follow us.

Fashion Vs Style

\Sumaiya's Fortune Cookie in Canada. Got it in one. Never try to be "on trend" to the extent that you forget your own style. Fashions fade. Style is eternal. Be yourself. Embrace yourself. What might suit someone else might not suit you and vice versa.

Style is an expression of individualism mixed with charisma. Fashion is something that comes after style.

and remember the one thing that never goes out of style is to be Classy, Sassy... Fabulous

Lets hear it for Sisterhood!

Heyyy everyoneeeee!!! So recently i read this article in the Glamour magazine that i just had to share with you. When i was 10 years old i honestly thought that when i would get to the age of 20 all the immaturity etc would have ended. Oh god i was wrong. Don't get me wrong i am 100% happy with my life and current situation...but i do understand situations around me and advice i am constantly giving people around me. So i read this article that i just had to share. So come on girls Lets hear it for Sisterhood!

"I don't need a psychology degree to tell you that when women tear other women to shreds with their gossip and talk it is due to insecurity from fear that they themselves are failing in some way to be beautiful, to be successful, to buy the right pair of jeans. But getting high off the fumes of our sisters misfortunes is a
cheap buzz...don't be drunk on it." - Glamour Magazine.

So here's a few steps to becoming the women who want to be admired and looked up to.

1. Challenge yourself to be honest about what you think

2. Understand that success is not a zero-sum game. Someone elses success is not your loss.

3. Stop doing things that feed your own worst ideas about yourself. Maybe its lurking on facebook out of envy while eating pizza. Stop doing things to lower your own self esteem. Being kinder to yourself will help you be kinder to other people.

4. Before you tear other women down use a simple trick ti imagine what you would feel like if you heard those same words from the mouth of your daughter, niece, sister or any young girl. Because if you keep it up that's exactly what will happen.

5. Have a problem with another woman? Be adult and handle it with respect and dignity. The timeless old school way. Talk to her.

6. Face your own insecurities. Learn to love and accept yourself the way you are and you will automatically be able to love other women.

Lets stick together girls. Its a girl thing
